Galahs have always felt like the comedians of the bush to me. Totally playful and curious and also a bit chaotic haha. But I also think Galahs are one of our most beautiful birds.
I wanted this painting to be a little reminder each day to enjoy life, not take everything too seriously and live in the moment.. but also it’s so Australian and who doesn’t love Australian birds.
The natural grain of the wood is left visible, so it becomes part of the piece keeping it warm and earthy, while letting the movement and cheeky nature of the galahs come through.
